In September 2014, Jake took over the reins as chef de cuisine at Bocca di Lupo, working under chef patron Jacob Kenedy to lead a restaurant producing some of the best Italian cuisine in the country. Jake’s career began with Jeremy Lee at the Blueprint Café, after which he followed him and the kitchen team to re-open Quo Vadis.
Since opening in 2008, Bocca di Lupo has received various awards for its regional Italian cuisine.
Sophie Braimbridge is a chef, writer and cookery presenter, known for her innovative, witty style. She has written several books, including “The Food of Italy” and “Simply Italian” and has been teaching in Italy for the past 20 years.
Trained by the Roux Brothers, she has cooked in some of the world’s leading restaurants, including Le Gavroche and the River Café in London, and Chez Panisse in San Francisco.
Giuseppe started his career on the beautiful island of Capri where he ran the family restaurant, before moving to London to work at Daphne’s.
He is now Head Chef at Harrods, but also travels the world as a consultant and is a tutor at the Italian culinary school Ferrandi.
Giuseppe has taught in Italy for many years and we are delighted to have him as a guest chef.
Valli Little is widely regarded as one of Australia’s most exciting food writers. Based in Sydney she is food editor of delicious magazine, and in this capacity travels extensively, interviewing and breaking bread with some of the world’s leading chefs and food producers.
As well as regularly giving classes in Sydney, Valli indulges her deep love of Italian food and culture by regularly bringing her extensive knowledge and superb cookery skills over to Italy to teach. In her limited spare time she has published a number of acclaimed cookery books.
Having trained as a chef at the world famous Leith’s School of Food and Wine in London, where she rose to senior teacher and demonstrator, Maxine’s involvement in the cookery world has taken her from high profile private dining to food styling and magazine editing. Maxine worked closely with Francesco da Mosto on his Venetian cookery book Francesco’s Kitchen spending long intensive periods in Venice cooking and researching the food and culture of this extraordinary city.
Passionate about Italian food and cooking, with a particular love of fish and shellfish, she has been teaching gourmet cookery in Italy for over twenty years, and has written more than twenty five books.
Tom inspired the taste buds and imaginations of the British public as he rose to national recognition on the UK hit series MasterChef back in 2011, narrowly missing out on the top spot. He has since been working in some of London’s best restaurants and as a private chef for prestigious clients around the nation with ‘Whitaker Bespoke’, his own private, fine dining experience service.
Tom’s winning dishes are based heavily on seasonality and provenance, with a real emphasis on wild produce to create an unforgettable cooking and dining experience.
Tom has lived, worked and travelled extensively in Italy building on his considerable depth of knowledge. We are delighted to have him as a Stirred guest chef.
A highly acclaimed food writer and chef, Ursula trained at the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts and has herself taught at leading cookery schools both in the UK and Italy, including Leith’s School of Food and Wine, Divertimenti and La Cucina Caldesi.
A prolific author of more than 20 books including A Gourmet Guide to Oil and Vinegar and her most recent publication, Flavours of Sicily, Ursula has an enviable depth of knowledge of her native Italian food and culture and consistently strives to learn more and further develop the skills which she has honed throughout her career.
Sarah has been involved in food and travel for two decades. Her first venture was launching a cookery school in Umbria with Alastair Little at La Cacciata. She then went on become a founding partner of Tasting Places, the pioneering food and travel company offering cookery holidays and bespoke gourmet worldwide. Sarah’s passion for innovative, regional cooking, locally sourced produce and searching for new or lesser known destinations, drives her ability to create unique and memorable experiences for her guests.
Patrick worked in the financial sector for many years, however his true passion has always been in food and wine. His love of the Italian language, which he speaks fluently, and culture has been a constant draw. Like many he unequivocally considers the quality of its produce and variety of its dishes to be the best in the world. Patrick moved on into the travel world working with a specialist high end tour company. He has now teamed up with Sarah to combine his depth of knowledge with their shared love of food, wine and Italy, to launch Stirred.
